Youth Invited To Participate In the Youth Track Meet by carnesconsulting

Spring, Texas – The 2nd Annual Texas Stallions Relays will bring hundreds of area athletes, ages 5-18, together to compete for fun and glory during the 2013 2nd Annual Texas Stallions Relays. The youth developmental meet scheduled for Saturday, April 6, 2013 is part of a series of developmental meets sanctioned by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Gulf Association preparing youth for the AAU Area 19 National Qualifier meet to the AAU Junior Olympics. The competition will run from 8:00 a.m. until conclusion at Klein Collins High School, 20811 Ella Boulevard, Spring, Texas 77388. Registration is available before the event begins on the day of the competition, gates open at 7am.

The event gives young athletes the opportunity to compete & have fun with their friends while they develop exercise habits that will benefit their health & wellness for their entire lives. The national Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympic Games are the largest youth sports program of its kind in North America, with hundreds of thousands of children competing every year.

The Texas Stallions Track Club Texas Stallions Relays youth track meet will include: the 100 200, 400-meter dash; 800, & 1500, 3000-meter run; 1500 meter Race Walk; 4 x 100, 4 x400, 4×800-meter relay, long jump, high jump, shot put & turbo javelin. Awards will be given for First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth place winners in the boys and girls nine age divisions.

Entry fees are $5 per person. Entries on meet day will be accepted beginning at 7am at the event site, Klein Collins High School, 20811 Ella Boulevard, Spring, Texas 77388.

The 1st Texas Stallions Relays Saturday, April 28 at Concordia Lutheran High School Stadium in Tomball.

Texas Stallions Relays April 28, 2012Tomball, Texas — Calling all track and field enthusiasts and youth runners, jumpers & throwers, you are invited to attend. The Texas Stallions Track Club will host its 1st Annual Texas Stallions Relays featuring youth 6 – 18 across the Gulf. The meet will feature 7 exciting relays, 4 individual running events and 4 field events. Individual events include the 200 & 400 Meter Dash, 800 & 1500 Meter Run, 1500 & 3000 Meter Race Walk, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, and Discus. Relay events include the 4 x 100, 4 x 200, 4 x 400, 4 x 800, Sprint and Distance Medleys.  Custom awards will be given to the top six participants in each event as well as the top three overall teams.

The 2012 1st Texas Stallions Relays is set to take place April 28 at Concordia Lutheran High School in Tomball. The first event will begin on Saturday, April 28 at 8:00 a.m. with the start of the 9-10 year old boys and girls 4 x 800 meter relay. Those races are followed by the rest of the days running events on a rolling schedule as follows:

  • 13-14 year old boys and girls Distance Medley Relay (12,4,8,16)
  • 15-16 year old boys and girls Distance Medley Relay (12,4,8,16)

Parent Meeting Announcement by Texas Stallions

Dear Texas Stallions Parents and Prospective Parents,

The Texas Stallions Track Club will be having a Parent and General Meeting on Tuesday March 9, 2010 at 6:30pm at Denny’s Restaurant (Meeting Room) located at 6504 FM 2920, SPRING, TX 77379.

It is very important that you attend if your athlete is already registered or plans to register with our club this season. We will discuss important information pertaining to the season and provide you the opportunity to have any questions you may have answered.

Our regular registration period ends on March 15, 2010. Paying your deposit prior to March 15, 2010 locks in your rate. Late registration is $150 and begins on March 16, 2010.

Spring Texas Youths Earns All American Honors At Junior Olympics Championship by Texas Stallions

A look into the future of Spring-Klein Track and Field

Lavoxkeia-smlSpring, TX, August 20, 2009. – The Texas Stallions Youth Track Club ended its Track and Field season on a high note.  While no medals were earned this year at the Amateur Athletic Union’s (AAU) Junior Olympics, one athlete was named a National Elite Youth All American and three athletes were named to National Elite Youth Honor Roll. “These accomplishments are impressive in that the entire Stallion’s Junior Olympic team and National Youth Elite Ranking System selections are first time track and field competitors” said Assistant Coach Lavoxkeia Carnes, “these athletes are among the best of the best and are ranked against all track and field athletes in their age group in the AAU, USA Track & Field (USATF), and CYO”.

Moines IA where 8,199 athletes representing 42 states and Washington D.C. were in attendance.  The Stallions Junior Olympic team consisted of Brittany Collins, Christopher Collins, Freddie Moore, Harrison Moore, LaKayla LaFrance, Lamont Grow, and Lavoxkeia Carnes.    

2009jro-Lamont-sml“I’m pleased with the way all of our athlete’s competed. They worked hard and gave everything they had. This was a new experience for all of them. I am so proud of them. I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish next year!” said, Head Coach Paul Durisseau.

All American Lavoxkeia Carnes, lead the team by finishing 10th in the Primary Girls 400m Dash with a personal best of 1:11.68. Lavoxkeia was also named on the Honor Roll in the Long Jump for her regional record-breaking jump of 11’4.25”. Harrison Moore a primary boy finished 13th in Long Jump at the Junior Olympics, was named on the Honor Roll for his Gold Medal jump of 11’11.75” at the Regional Championships in July.  Midget girl, Zhanna Brooks, qualified for the Junior Olympics, but did not compete was also named on the Honor Roll in the 1500m Race Walk for her debuting race at district with a time of 10:33.26.

9 Spring Athletes Advance to AAU Junior Olympics by Texas Stallions

Spring, TX, July 14, 2009. – Junior Olympic spots were up for grabs as the top athletes from the Gulf Coast Region competed July 10 and 11 in the Area 13 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Junior Olympics (JO) National Qualifier at Klein Memorial Stadium. Athletes age 5 – 18 competed in various track and field events, with the top six in each event and age group earning awards and the top four advancing to the Junior Olympics.

Fourteen athletes represented the Texas Stallions this weekend, with eight qualifying for the Junior Olympics. Spring residents Jonathan Carnes, Ahmad Cummings, Harrison Moore, Christopher Ward, Kaylan Harris, Freddie Moore, Alexander Brooks, Christopher Collins, Jarius Chevalier, Lamont Grow, Lavoxkeia Carnes, LaMika LaFrance, Brittany Collins, and LaKayla LaFrance represented the Stallions well in the National Qualifier.

Lavoxkeia Carnes earned one gold and two silver medals in all of her events. She is the regional champion in the primary girls 400m dash and silver medalist in the Long Jump and 100m Dash. Her jump of 11’4.25” broke the regional record with a margin of only .25” separating her from the gold medal. Showing dominance in the Primary Boy division is Harrison Moore. Harrison took the gold medal and is the regional champion in two of his three events, the Long Jump and 100m Dash.

Also advancing to the Junior Olympics are midget boy, Freddie Moore in both of his events placing 4th in the discus throw and the shot put; Sub-youth girl Brittany Collins is the silver medalist in the 800m run; Youth girl LaKayla LaFrance with a silver and bronze medalist in the 200m Hurdles and 100m Hurdles, respectively; Youth boy Alexander Brooks with a 4th place finish in the 800m run; and Intermediate boys Christopher Collins is the bronze medalist in the 2000m Steeplechase and Lamont Grow is the bronze medalist in the long jump.

Finishing in the top six is LaMika LaFrance with a 5th place finish in the midget girls 400m Dash, in what proved to be one of the closest races of the championship, with only a fraction of a second separating each of the top six places in the midget girls 400m. Also, Zhanna Brooks who previously advanced in June’s multi-event qualifier.

“I am so proud of our athlete’s” said Head Coach Paul Durisseau, “their hard work and dedication has truly paid off”.

The Texas Stallions Junior Olympians will be traveling to Des Moines, IA to compete in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Junior Olympics, July 27 – August 8, 2009.
