Spring, TX, June 9, 2010. The Texas Stallions Track Club hit the road this past weekend to participate in the 19th edition of the Louisiana Governor’s Games, sponsored by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports which sponsors the event, aims to expand sports and fitness programs to encourage healthy behavior for Louisiana youth.
The Stallions and forty-five other teams with more than 1,500 youth athletes competed in the youth track and field meet at LSU’s Bernie Moore Track Stadium. Children ages 4 to 18 years came from Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee and Arkansas to participate in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) sanctioned event hosted by Crescent City Track Club.
Seven boys and nine girls from the Stallions stable took part in events that were held by age groups: PeeWee (6 & under) Primary (7-8), Sub-Bantam (9), Bantam (10), Sub-Midget (11), Midget (12), Sub-Youth (13), Youth (14), Intermediate (15-16), and Young Men/Women (17-18). For the first time in its 19 year history the Governor Games presented Team Awards to the Boys and Girls teams with the most points. The Stallions Girls Team placed 11th earning 83 points with the throwers leading the way.
Custom medals of Gold, Silver and Bronze were awarded to the top-three finishers in each event by age group and points were awarded for the top eight toward the boys and girls team awards. The top-eight finishers were:
PeeWee:
- Alyssa Cummings – 8th Place 200m
Primary:
- Ahmad Cummings – 6th Place Shot Put
- Connor Franklin – 5th Place Shot Put and 8th Place 800m
- Nzinga Williams – 6th Place Long Jump
Sub-Bantam:
- Devauncia Franks – 1st Place 1500m Race Walk and 1st Place Shot Put
- Lavoxkeia Carnes - 2nd Place 200m and 3rd Place 400m
Bantam:
- Morgan Wiltz – 1st Place Shot Put and 2nd Place 1500m Race Walk
Sub-Midget:
- JaDarious White – 3rd Place 100m and 7th Place 200m
Midget:
- Alyssa Honora – 6th Place 100m
Youth:
- Brittany Collins – 6th Place 800m and 7th Place 400m
Intermediate:
- Kaitlin Kirkwood – 1st Place Discus and 1st Place Shot Put
- Michael Briant – 6th 110 Hurdles
“This was the Stallions first time participating in the event, and I am so pleased with their performance” said Head Coach Paul Durisseau, “and I am so grateful for our throws coaches James Carnes and Brad Franklin who have done a wonderful job with our throwers all of which are first-timers”. The Stallions can be seen next Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the AAU Sanctioned event held by the Sonics Track Club. The meet will be held at Klein Collins Stadium, 20811 Ella Boulevard, Spring, Texas 77388 at 8:30 am.
A youth Track and Field Club, the Texas Stallions are based in Spring Texas with athletes from Spring, Klein, Conroe, Houston, schools districts and the surrounding North Houston area. Practices are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at Klein Collins High School. The Texas Stallions Youth Track Club score fourteen top six finishes at final meet before district!
Spring, TX – June 8, 2009 – In the last meet before the Area 13 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Junior Olympics (JO) District Qualifier, the Texas Stallions demonstrated readiness by bringing home 3 gold, 2 bronze, 3 fourth, 5 fifth, and 1 sixth place finishes. A youth Track and Field Club based in Spring Texas, the Texas Stallions are dedicated to the development of youth track and field athletes in the North Houston area. Lead by head coach Paul Durisseau, fifteen Texas Stallions participated in the AAU sanctioned Flying Dragons Track Meet on Saturday June 6, 2009 at Klein Memorial Stadium in a variety of track and field events for youth 5 – 18 years old.

Ten boys and five girls took part in events that were held by age groups: Primary (5-8), Sub-Bantam (9), Bantam (10), Sub-Midget (11), Midget (12), Sub-Youth (13), Youth (14), Intermediate (15-16), and Young Men/Women (17-18). Spring, TX, May 16, 2009. – The Texas Stallions increased ribbon count to five this week at the USA Track & Field, Inc. (USATF) sanctioned event held by the CL Athletics at Stafford High School this week. Nineteen Spring athletes competed in the eighteen event meet.
The top-six finishers in their age group and event were:
- Christopher Ward – 1500m – 4th – 5:46
- Harrison Moore – 800m – 4th – 3:03; Long Jump - 4th – 10’5″
- LaKayla LaFrance – 100m Hurdles – 2nd – 17.90
- Lavoxkeia Carnes – 100m – 2nd – 16.35; 800m – 3rd – 3:09

Spring, TX, May 11, 2009. – Fifteen Spring athletes were involved in their third meet of the 2009 summer track season. The USA Track & Field, Inc. (USATF) sanctioned event held by the Northwest Flyers track meet was held May 9, 2009 with over 14 teams from the Texas.
The top-six finishers were: Adam White, a bantam boy, took 5th place in the Long Jump with a jump of 10’ 5”. Lavoxkeia Carnes, a primary girl took 2nd in the 100m with a time of 15.68. Jarius Chevalier an intermediate boy took 4th place in the 1500m with a time of 6:26.
The Stallions can be seen next Saturday, May 16, 2009 at a USATF Sanctioned event held by the CL Athletics Stars. The meet will be held at Stafford High School, 1625 Staffordshire Rd, Stafford, TX 77477 at 8:30 am.
