Kreinhop Student Snags 3 Medals at Primary Championship by Texas Stallions

Lavoxkeia Carnes and team score four top six finishes at Primary Championship

Spring, TX, May 31, 2009. – Eight year old Spring resident Lavoxkeia Carnes took home Gold, Silver, and Bronze  Medals on Saturday in each of her three events, Long Jump, 400m, and 100m respectively.  She and four other Texas Stallions primary runners participated in the M.C. Express Track Club Primary Championship Meet on Saturday, May 30, 2009.  As the season nears closer to the district, and regional championships Lavoxkeia and her teammates are preparing for the opportunity to qualify for the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Junior Olympics to be held in Des Moines IA in early August.

In their sixth meet of the season, the Stallions primary team competed in the AAU sanctioned event held at Oak Ridge High School with eleven track and field events for youth 3 – 8 years old. Three boys and one girls from the Stallions team took part in events that were held by age groups: Primary (7-8), Pee Wee (5-6), and Tiny Mites (4 and under). Awards were given for the top-six finishers in each age group and all participants in the event. In all the Stallions took home four top-six finishes.

The top-six finishers in their age group and event were:

  • Harrison Moore –Long Jump, 6th – 8’4”
  • Lavoxkeia Carnes – Long Jump, 1st – 9’5½”; 400m Run, 2nd – 1:15.4, and 100m Dash, 3rd – 16.08

The Stallions Primary team made a strong showing in their other events, making a strong presence at their 1st Primary Championship. Ahmad Cummings and Jonathan Carnes competed well in the Pee Wee 100m, Baseball throw, and 200 m dash. Harrison Moore had a strong showing in his other events – 100m and 400m.

The Texas Stallions Primary Stable consists of Ahmad Cummings, Audreanecia Hagan, Harrison Moore, Jonathan Carnes, and Lavoxkeia Carnes.

A youth Track and Field Club, the Texas Stallions are based in Spring Texas. Practices are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at Klein Oak High School and Klein Collins High School. The Texas Stallions Track Club is a non-profit organization that is sanctioned by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Gulf Association and the USA Track and Field (USATF) Gulf Association youth track programs for boys and girls from ages 6 to 18 years old. Our track club is dedicated to the development of youth track and field athletes in the North Houston area.
