The Texas Stallions Track Club is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that is sanctioned by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Gulf Association and the USA Track and Field (USATF) Gulf Association youth track programs for boys and girls from ages 6 to 18 years old. Our track club is dedicated to the development of youth track and field athletes in the North Houston area.

To teach fundamental track and field principles that will equip youth athletes with the skills to compete on a national level.

Registration
Registration is $155.00 for all athletes. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS WHATSOEVER. Fees include uniform, league membership (s), spirit pack, and team award. A copy of the birth certificate and a recent photo must accompany the application. The original birth certificate must be verified against the copy by the registrar. Deadline for paying registration fees and turning in all documents will be April 1, late registration continues until April 23. All documents and all fees must be turned in before the athlete can participate in any of the sanctioned events.
Youth Age Divisions
Youth competitions take place in age divisions based on birth year. The age divisions for competition year 2011 are as follows:

Uniforms
Uniforms are distributed once all fees are paid in full. Athlete uniforms vary by age division. Younger age groups compete in two piece uniforms; older age groups wear speed designs. Team warm-up suits can be purchased for $55.00; they are not included in the registration fee. If you do not purchase a team warm-up, you are required to wear black/white only.
Track Meets
Schedules for each meet will be sent out via email and/or at practice and also on the team website. Athletes should check-in with their head coach at each track meet. They must consume water before, during and after competition. Consume sports drinks AFTER strenuous competition and NOT as a substitute for water. Athletes must bring healthy food and snacks which include sandwiches with lean turkey, fruit, snack bars and nuts. Always bring a cooler, umbrellas and lawn chairs. Concession is usually available. Only the athletes will be allowed to sit under the team tent to rest and eat between each event. Parents may set up their own tents and chairs on either side of the team tent.
Meet Fees
Athletes & parents are required to pay entry fees at each meet. The cost is usually $5.00 for athletes and spectators. Fees for Junior Olympic qualifying and championships are announced prior to the qualifying rounds.
Returned Check(s)
There is a charge for returned checks. Checks will not be accepted from repeat offenders.
Fund-raisers
The club will sponsor several fundraising events throughout the season. The team fundraisers are mandatory for ALL athletes or you can do a buyout for $150.00. We encourage all athletes to participate in fundraising events to promote teamwork and team spirit.
Spikes and Running Shoes
Athletes must train in running shoes and compete in spikes. Spikes may be purchased from retail sports stores such as Academy, Sports Authority, Eastbay & Fleet Feet. Fleet Feet stores offer a 10% discount for spikes for youth club athletes. No basketball shoes for training are allowed.
Parent Meetings
Parents are asked to attend parent meetings held periodically. A mandatory travel meeting will be held prior to competition for regional and national meets. Topics may include relay selection, event participation, travel costs, athlete safety, etc. These meetings are brief, but important.
Volunteers
Volunteers are needed! Areas where you can help: registration, fund raising, team manager, coaching, and chaperoning.
Travel
Each year we travel to the AAU National Junior Olympics. Recent trips include New Orleans, Norfolk (VA) and Knoxville. Parents are responsible for all travel planning and costs. The Stallions staff may coordinate discounted travel arrangements based on the number of participants.
